Roots:

In Arabic, every word has a root. The root for each word can be seen at the top of the flashcard or multiple choice card in blue. If you click the root, it will show you the corresponding translation of that root in every single instance in the Quran.

( ) vs [ ] :

  1. Words that are in ( ) are not part of the Arabic, but are added for clarity, as often times it is implied based on context.
  2. Words in [ ] are part of the Arabic, and are included in brackets to help with comprehension as to what part of the word needs to be emphasized and what part of the word should be deemphasized in understanding.
  3. Words that contain a * are indicating that these are idioms that are clarified in the ( ). This way users can understand the literal meaning of of the words along with what is actually implied in such a phrase.

How to use the “Test ☆ Only” Feature

On the Flashcard and Multiple-Choice tabs you will see a star symbol on the bottom of each card. If you select the ☆ for any card it will store it for testing. So if you enable the “Test Only” feature it will only show you the cards you saved by clicking the ☆ icon.
